Catlins

How lucky we've been with the weather! We woke to another lovely day. Our plans were to get to Cathedral Cove by 9.30 as access is dependent on the tide. It was another handstand opportunity for Tarun.

Owaka was out next stop ... a short drive but there were lots of places to stop on the way . This area has lots of walks to beaches, waterfalls and viewing spots and Tarun was, as usual, wanting to walk and climb.

....and take selfies!!!

We stayed in another cute little cabin in a camping ground close to the beach. I admit it was a beautiful day but these southern seas are very very cold ... so cold that only crazy people swim!

This is Surat Bay.... seal country! Tarun and I walked down the beach one way and saw nothing but he'd decided to walk the other way and was lucky enough to see a couple of NZ sea lions laying on the beach.

Not a great choice of restaurants down this way, especially for someone on a vegetarian diet, but we did find a food truck selling pizzas. While Tarun ate a vegetarian one I chose the meatiest one possible.
